Our full-time veterinary assistant provides the daily medical needs of our population, and working in conjunction with New Holland Veterinary Hospital, we perform spay/neuter and basic surgeries, lump removals, and dental cleaning and extractions at BARK. (More complicated procedures are handled at New Holland Veterinary Hospital or by specialists as needed.) With recent additions of a digital X-ray and blood testing equipment, we now provide chest and abdominal X-rays on all dogs 7 and older and do a 23-panel blood chemistry profile on all dogs (6 months and older) in our program.
With these diagnostic tests, we help remove concerns about dogs’ health, improving the adoptability of dogs at Golden Gateway – especially the seniors! We provide the results to adopters as part of the Golden Tales binder that contains all health and training information for each dog.
DVGRR sets the standard for care for rescue. Click here for a complete overview of the care we provide.
Our Cody Medical Fund is the primary source for expenses related to all veterinary care for all DVGRR program dogs. Help the dogs at Golden Gateway with a donation to the Cody Medical Fund.
