DVGRR REUNION OCTOBER 26, 2024
WILD, WILD, RESCUE! Celebrating 30 years
The last 30 years at DVGRR has been one WILD ride so now is the time to dust off your cowboy boots and your 10 gallon hat for our 30 Year Rescue Celebration at Golden Gateway on Sat., Oct. 26, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Adoption & Activity Center at Golden Gateway. This event is open to DVGRR alumni, their canine siblings, and their humans. (All dogs must remain on lead during the event; no flexis. We ask that each dog be handled by one human.) We are hoping to have the puppies and moms of all the litters that were born at DVGRR attend this event. Group photos will be taken! This is an opportunity to communicate with other adopters on Facebook and plan your group costume to win prizes! Feel free to dress in Western attire or add a Halloween spin to it.
We will begin the costume parade starting promptly at 11:30 a.m. We will have dogs and guests line up around our Rescue Corral, and we’ll award the best costume contest winners at that time. Costumes this year can be your unique creations to keep with our western theme or any traditional Halloween costume will do!
There will be plenty of fun and games as well as food for sale and shopping at Pap’s Place. This event will be held rain or shine. We can’t wait to see everyone!
Sponsorships are also available and help us funnel more of the money we raise to where it’s needed most – the dogs! Sponsorships are a great way to honor or memorialize canines and humans, showing your Golden love and support. Sponsorship deadline is Oct. 15th. All sponsorships will be displayed on our website, Facebook page, and at the event.
Please RSVP to inza@dvgrr.org by October 15, 2024 with names of attendees (both human and canine). RSVP is not mandatory, but it does help with the planning. Volunteers are also needed for this event. Please email inza@dvgrr.org if you are interested in volunteering.
**** For everyone’s safety, we ask that each human attending handle only one dog ****
All dogs must remain on lead during the event; no flexis/retractable leases. For everyone’s safety (dogs and people), each dog MUST BE handled by one adult. We have had issues with dog fights and injuries that resulted from a single person attempting to handle more than one dog. Compliance failure could lead to liability issues and legal expenses for DVGRR. We reserve the right to deny access to any event or activity should any attendee arrive handling more than a single dog.
